How can we help?
Answers to the questions we get most. If yours isn't here, write to us — a real person reads every message.
We aim to reply within two business days. Including your device model and iOS version helps us answer in one round trip.
Managing your plan
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled through Apple rather than inside SkyWiser. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, choose SkyWiser, and tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
How do I cancel during the free trial?
The same way, but do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple charges the first period automatically the moment a trial lapses, and that renewal cannot be stopped after it processes.
I paid, but the app still shows the paywall.
Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. This asks Apple to re-send your entitlement, which fixes almost every case — especially after reinstalling or switching to a new phone.
Make sure you are signed into the same Apple Account that made the purchase. Subscriptions belong to an Apple Account, not to a device. If restoring doesn't work, email us and we'll sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple Account that made the purchase. We can't issue or reverse a charge ourselves, but tell us what went wrong so we can fix it.
What do I get without subscribing?
A daily generic sky reading based on the current transits, with no natal personalisation. Subscribing factors your own chart into every reading and unlocks the Vimshottari dasha context and full journal history.
Getting an accurate reading
Why does SkyWiser need my exact birth time?
Because KP works at the sub-lord level, which is a slice of the zodiac a few arc minutes wide. The ascendant moves roughly one degree every four minutes, so a birth time that is off by a quarter of an hour can land you in a different sub-lord entirely.
Use the time on your birth certificate if you have it. If you only know it approximately, the reading still works — treat the chart-specific parts as looser than they appear.
My birthplace isn't being found.
Try a larger nearby town, and add the country: Kochi, Kerala, India rather than a neighbourhood name. Place lookup converts what you type into coordinates and a historical timezone, and it recognises populated places more reliably than districts.
Today's reading won't load.
Readings are generated when you open the app, so they need a connection. Check that you're online, then pull to refresh. If it keeps failing, force-quit and reopen the app.
Still stuck? Email us with the date and roughly what time you tried, and we'll look into it.
How do I change the aesthetic?
Open Profile and pick Editorial, Cosmic, or Analog. The change applies immediately and is remembered. You can switch as often as you like.
Journal, privacy, and deletion
Can you read my journal?
No. Journal entries are encrypted on your device and stored in your own iCloud private database. The encryption key lives in your iCloud Keychain. We never receive the entries or the key, so there is nothing on our side to read, hand over, or leak.
The honest trade-off: because we hold no copy, we also cannot recover your journal for you. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
I got a new iPhone. Will my journal come with me?
Yes, provided you sign into the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive and iCloud Keychain switched on. Your entries sync from your iCloud private database and the key travels in your iCloud Keychain. Neither passes through us.
What happens if I lose access to my Apple Account?
Your journal goes with it. This is the unavoidable cost of an architecture where we hold no key: if the key in your iCloud Keychain is gone, the entries cannot be decrypted by anyone, including us. If your journal matters to you, keep your Apple Account recovery options current.
How do I delete my account and my data?
In the app, open Profile and choose to delete your account. This removes your account identifier, your subscription record, and every cached reading from our servers, and revokes the app's Sign in with Apple tokens. It happens straight away and cannot be undone. The privacy policy lists exactly what is and isn't removed.
Your journal and chart are not ours to delete — they live in your own iCloud. To remove those, delete the app's data from Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Account Storage, or delete individual entries in the app first.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, because only Apple can do that. Cancel it separately, or you will keep being charged.
Write to us.
Email [email protected]. To get a useful answer in one reply, include:
- Your device model and iOS version
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- The date of the reading, if it's about a specific day
- A screenshot, if there was an error on screen
Please don't send your journal entries or passwords. We never need them, and we'd rather not receive them.
